Literature Text

Wandering down the road of life
my path yet to unfold;
I chanced upon another
who seemed mightily bold.
He trekked his way
straight to my heart,
and all flew from my mind:
but soon thereafter, he did part;
though I knew he was mine.
I always thought that he'd return,
and we'd unite again.
But then one day
my love-sick heart,
gave out, a bitter end.
He came to see me off,
but alas! It was for naught.
For my own love,
his heart gave out;
my poor, beloved kin.
